Summer 2021

TeamUp Jeffco is hiring for our 6-week Summer Camp program at Arvada K8 for middle school students entering grades 6th, 7th or 8th in the Fall 2021.

Site Manager

This is a lead position training volunteer and high school students to mentor and support middle school students with remote learning.

The middle school students will be in pods of approximately ten and will be in-person twice a week during the traditional school day. Direct collaboration with classroom teachers and the school is required, under the supervision of the program director. The site manager will train and supervise the volunteer mentor leaders who will work directly with middle school students.


  • Secondary Teacher’s License preferred

  • Previous work in a secondary school setting

  • Ability to lead extra-curriculum programming, engaging students in games, music, art, and/or physical education

  • Proven track record with student engagement

Mentor Leaders

This volunteer position will be a role model and problem-solver for up to 10 Middle School students while they are engaged in remote learning online with their teachers. After school time, Mentor Leaders will support enrichment activities with these same students. This position is open to high school students ages 16 and over.

  • Volunteer position, qualified volunteers may earn up to $1600 in Pell Grants

  • Present on-site for up to five days per week

  • Full-Time and Part-time positions

  • All Mentors will have a personal desk, and meals will be provided

  • Mentors will be able to participate in their own remote classwork during school hours

  • Supervision, training, and guidance will be available

AmeriCorps Positions

Join TeamUp Jeffco to build a pilot model that meet the needs of middle school students who need assistance with remote learning. This position will coordinate the development and improvement of all systems to maximize outreach, needs assessment, program delivery, and student and staff recruitment. Methods for ongoing communication with key stakeholders – including the students themselves are also part of this position. Hours are Mondays-Fridays from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m..

Service Term: 1,700 hours over 12 months (40+ hours per week.)

Benefits: Modest living stipend roughly $14,200, health benefits for those who do not have health insurance once starting the program. Approximately $6,000 Education Award to apply to past or future education costs, childcare benefit if eligible.
