Arvada K8 Summer Camp
June 7th-July 16th, 2021

*No class on Monday, July 5th


In partnership with Jeffco Public Schools, TeamUp Jeffco will be offering a 6-week Summer Camp for current Arvada K8 students who will be in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the Fall of 2021.

Students will have an opportunity to strengthen their math and reading skills though FUN activities. Every day will include an opportunity to explore a Passion Project led by a community volunteer.

Breakfast and Lunch will be served. There is NO CHARGE for this program.


Student Daily Student Schedule- Monday- Friday

    • 7:30 a.m. - Student drop off and Breakfast

    • 8:00 -10:00 a.m.- Class (SEL focus, skill building in math and reading)

    • 10:00 -11:45 a.m.- Passion Projects

    • 11:45 a.m. - Lunch

    • 12:00 p.m. - Dismissal

    • 12:00 - 2:00 p.m- Optional Afternoon Session- Possible Theater and Sports offering


What are Passion Projects?

    • 1-2 different choices per day

    • Opportunity for career and hobby exploration

    • A variety of topics with oversight of Lead Teacher

    • Community partners and volunteers share their knowledge, expertise and passion

Lead Teacher Application

A lead teacher and a para or assistant will be hired for each grade level classroom for the full six weeks. Each classroom will have 15 students total. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for overall class management, schedules, and implementing the iReady curriculum When possible and in reasonable doses, we will integrate reading, writing, and math into the Passion Projects. The topics for these sessions will be selected based on the skills brought to the table with consideration to our best guess on student interest.

  • June 6- July 17th with no classes July 5th

  • 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

  • Teacher training days are paid on June 2, 3, & 4th

Volunteer Passion Projects

Do you have a passion to share? We are looking for volunteer community members to help support Arvada K8 students over the summer. Our goal is to introduce kids to interesting projects, support academic skills, and address their social and emotional needs. Do you have skills, passions, programs, products, or ideas that we could integrate into our program? We are interested in working collaboratively with individuals, organizations, or groups who have time or talent to share.
